The world is out there. You can't wait for it to come to you, because then it will just walk all over you. You have to walk up to it and say "Hey, man, I'm going to have the life I want and you can't do a damn thing about it." Sure, there are going to be obstacles. I never said there wouldn't. There's going to be things, and events, and most especially people standing in your way, oppressing you, not allowing you to do what you dream of. Everyone has them. I have them. You have them. But you need to plow through. It's the only way you'll be able to have a good life. Wallowing in your self-pity isn't going to do a thing. YOU need to make things happen.
